A new Story

This tribute is to my Dad. My Dad was born John McDonald but he was also called Jack or Jackie by close family and friends. Jack was born in Glasgow, Scotland on December 27, 1938. He was the only boy to 7 sisters so he was pretty spoilt having all that female attention. He joined the army as a young man and was a fitness instructor and loved boxing. He was a loving Husband to May (my Mum) and Dad to Jacqueline and Linda (that's me). He also has a grand-daughter called Nicola (my daughter). My Dad was such a funny character, always telling jokes and laughing and his love of music was to a high scale. He loved to sing and his hero was Elvis Presley. He also loved sport, especially football and was a huge Glasgow Celtic fan. My Dad was a great guy, an inspiration and such a loveable man. Myself and my older Sister Jacqueline had a great childhood and my Dad was a huge part of that. My Dad was fit his whole life so when he was diagnosed with MND we were all devastated. He was diagnosed with MND after he went for a scan for a pain in his ankle, he was 59. My Dad fought this terrible disease until he sadly passed away on 16th May 2002, he was 64. I lost my Dad when I was 35 and my daughter Nicola was just coming up for 6. Alot has happened in 12 years since my Dad past away. I now live in Australia with my husband and daughter who will be 18 in a few weeks and is studying Fashion/Styling. The 16th of May 2014 is the 12th Anniversary of my Dad's passing. Dad, you are sorely missed, Mum, Jacqueline and Jamie, Myself, Russell and Nicola all love you very much and will continue to love you forever. There is not a day that goes past that we don't think of you, or laugh about you or just smile about you. I was so lucky to have a Dad like you, you are irreplaceable and you will always be in my life. Till we meet again.........x
